Really long guns

That’s the usual length of my barrels and shorter😂

That suppressor hard to design? Was it made similar to a muffler in an auto

Honestly i have never cut a muffler in two. I have a mechanical engineering background so it is not rocket science. Just pressure curves, tensile strengths etc. then take into account the calibers, volume of can, use of the can full auto or bolt action etc.

44" barrel. Fun to play in the traditional rifle world.

I wonder how much improvement lapping the scope rings gives?

Some napkin math:
1 MOA ~= 1 inch / 100yd
= 1 inch / 3600 inch
= 1 thou / 3.6 inch

Coincidentally, the distance between the rings on my scope mount is about 3.7 inches. So 1 thou of variability makes a little under 1 MOA variability on the target. If misalignment or being out of round makes the scope rings like spring mounts, where the scope can move about a thou, then the improvement is significant.

Does that sound consistent with the improvement you got?

I’m not sure, probably just lapped the rings because it seemed like the cool thing to do. I’m like that sometimes!

I shot that beast for 15-20 years with 225s and 250s never was happy with the group, went to the Barns 185s and that was huge difference. That barrel is a spaghetti noodle with a gas block in the middle, maybe that’s why the lighter bullets do well. The gen 2 BARs have a adjustable “BOSS” brake, so then you have a spaghetti noodle with a gas block in the middle AND a hunk of ugly on the end!

Ron Spomer talks a bit about lapping the scope rings in this episode. He says it’s to avoid putting unnecessary stress on the scope, and doesn’t mention play at all.

I guess that could affect the clarity of the picture, if it’s enough to skew the lenses from being parallel with each other.

I had TC encore in 460 and had a cheap set of rings on it and didnt lap them and ruined a scope . After many heavy rounds where the rings was fat in one place etc… it put groves in the tube of the scope. Yep just in case your wondering the scope shook itself apart.
